Welcome to The Greyhound Inn and Restaurant, a traditional Grade II listed British Inn, situated in the heart of stunning rural Berkshire countryside, in the South of England. It is one of the oldest buildings in Tidmarsh, a fine example of 12th century construction, which became a wayside public house in 1625, and was owned by the monks of Reading Abbey. After a devastating fire in February 2005, The Greyhound has been refurbished by the licensee, Paul Woodford, who has created a relaxing, cosy and contemporary ambience, appropriate to this beautiful thatched inn's charm, which is enhanced by open fires, and wooden beamed ceilings.
The stylish candle-lit restaurant seats up to 45 guests, and is ideal for Corporate Events, Weddings, Christenings, and Birthdays. At lunchtime an extensive menu of traditional British cuisine is served and in the evenings a vast range of al la carte dishes can be chosen from. Sunday lunch changes on a weekly basis, with the option of several menus, and the three course luncheon is priced at just £16.50.
There is a varied and affordable wine menu, and a range of award winning real ales. Children are welcome, and there are facilities for guests with disabilities. Car parking is available. |
